What is a Land Register Identification Number?

A plot is the part of a Cadastral Municipality (KG) that is recorded in the cadastre as an independent unit and is clearly designated by a Land Register Identification Number (GST-NR). This number serves as the unique identifier for every plot in Austria.

The Land Register Identification Number is always included in the official Land Register Extract and enables precise allocation within the Cadastral Municipality. A Land Register Extract may contain several Land Register Identification Numbers if one entry (Einlage) comprises multiple plots.

Using the Land Register Identification Number, the location, boundaries and ownership of a plot can be clearly determined.
