What is recorded in the Encumbrance Sheet (C-sheet)?
The Encumbrance Sheet – also called the C-sheet – is the part of the Land Register Extract in which all encumbrances associated with a property are recorded. It shows which rights or obligations burden a plot of land or specific co-ownership shares.

The C-sheet includes, among other things, the following encumbrances:
- Pledges and mortgages
- Prohibitions on disposal
- Pre-emption and repurchase rights
- Easements or other rights of use
These encumbrances may apply either to the entire property or only to specific co-ownership shares.
When ownership is transferred, existing encumbrances automatically pass to the new owner unless a release from encumbrances is granted. The Encumbrance Sheet therefore ensures transparency regarding the financial and legal obligations attached to a property.
