Can you search for Business Register Numbers in GISA?
Yes, it is generally possible to search for Business Register Numbers in the Austrian Business Licence Information Register (GISA). However, if no results are displayed under the tab “search for legal entity”, even though the number is valid, this is often due to the format of the input.
Retrieve an Extract from the Business Register
Enter the company name, Business Register Number (FN) or VAT Identification Number (UID) to receive the current extract instantly.
Always enter the Business Register Numbers with leading zeros and the check letter. Only this format is recognised correctly.
Example: Instead of “1234a”, please enter “001234a”.
Afterwards, run the search again. In most cases, the company will then be found correctly.
